Big Band Charts by Ryan Fraley

Ryan Fraley

In constant demand as an emerging young composer of ensemble music, Ryan Fraley is known for his innovative works for concert band and jazz ensemble. His compositions are published by The FJH Music Company, Alfred Publications, and Les Taylor Publications, and have been featured at numerous State Conventions as well as the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago.

Fraley is a recipient of the ASCAP Plus Award, given to writers whose works receive frequent performances, or whose catalogs have a unique prestige value.

Ryan received a master's degree in composition from The State University of New York in Potsdam, and a bachelor's degree in music theory and composition from Ball State University in Indiana.

As a trombonist, he performs regularly with the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra. Check out the IJO's new CD here!

Big Band Charts by Ryan Fraley

Cook the Books

Here's an up-tempo swing chart over very unusual changes. Cook the Books burns with a developed sax soli, and a very powerful shout section. An open solo section features changes for Alto, Bari, Trumpet, and Piano or Vibes.

PRICE - $19.95

The Tooth

The 'Tooth is Ryan Fraley's humble tribute to the incomparable Frank Mantooth, who passed away in January, 2004. Frank's writing and playing were an inspiration to many, and his keen sense of humor was known to all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

This chart features tricky ensemble passages, and is written in a tongue-in-cheek style to reflect 'Tooth's wonderful humor.

PRICE - $19.95

Midnight in Little Chicago

Midnight in Little Chicago features a wonderfully eerie melody over unconventional (but really tasty) changes.

Features well-notated rhythm section parts with suggested piano voicings. Although this chart is scored as a flugel horn feature, C, E, B, and Bass Clef solo parts are included — makes a perfect ballad feature for any instrument.

PRICE - $19.95
