Amazon Now Offers Mp3 Downloads

Amazon has recently added mp3 downloads to the mix of products they offer.  Here is why this might be significant for you. 1) Unlike Itunes, the mp3s you download from Amazon are not copy-protected so you can use them in any mp3 player - including the Ipod. and 2) they are a little cheaper than Itunes with many of them priced at just 89 cents.  I did a search for some Christmas tunes by Gordon Goodwin and this is what I came up with.  The searches I did for many jazz artists turned up alot of them so it looks like they did not slight the jazz lovers too much when putting this together.

Customer Review: A really fun CD
This CD absolutely smokes! A collection of incredibly, hot, innovative latin-jazz interpretations of holiday classics. This CD is not designed for quiet fireside contemplation. I played it last year while we trimmed the tree and the entire family ended up bopping around the family room. Truly a lot of fun! PLEASE NOTE: This CD was put out a couple of years ago as "Playboy's Latin Jazz Christmas: A Not So Silent Night" but with a different cover. That's great because the original had a Playboy Bunny on the cover which may have discouraged some people from checking it out. That was a shame because it's an absolutely wonderful CD.

Muy caliente! Sizzle doesn't get spicier than this collection of Latin-infused versions of holiday favorites: "Silent Night" as a cha cha, "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" as a mambo. Ho-ho-ho has never sounded more hot-hot-hot!

Christmas Jazz on CD (updated frequently)

I know now is not really the time people are thinking about Christmas CDs, but since this is a blog dedicated to Christmas jazz I figure it is appropriate to post all throughout the year.  Besides, you can probably get some good deals simply because no one is searching (or bidding) on Christmas stuff at the outset of summer.  Amazingly enough there are a bunch of listings for Christmas jazz CDs on Ebay.  These listings are updated constantly so check back (especially around Christmas time) for the most current listings.
