Kelly
Beaman has served as a trombonist, vocalist, and arranger
in such places as Madison Square Garden, Walt Disney
World, Universal Studios, and along the East coast
with the US Air Force Heritage of America Band. Endorsements
for his work have come from such industry figures
as producer/arrangers Peter Graves (Barbra Streisand,
Dionne Warwick, the late Jaco Pastorius), Duane Hitchings
(Jimi Hendrix, Rod Stewart), and Donald Fraser (Sarah
Brightman, Jessye Norman, English Chamber Orchestra,
BBC), trombonist Tom Garling, and jazz vocalist Kurt
Reichenbach, and New Yorks New Swing Sextet.
His most recent commissioned effort was a transcription
of Doc Severinsons orchestral arrangement of
The Christmas Song, re-arranged for Lt.
Colonel Larry Lang of the USAF Academy Band. As a
developing producer and artist manager, Kelly has
obtained permission to submit material to David Wilkes,
VP of Jazz A&R for Koch Records.
Additionally, Kelly is Director of Music at 1st Presbyterian
Church of Winnebago, IL where he composes original
choral literature. Future plans include the formation
of a Christian jazz ensemble devoted to the performance
and broadcast/webcast of both sacred and secular music
through radio announcer John Russell Ghrist of WDCB
and WTPB-LP. Kelly holds a BM in Composition from
Illinois Wesleyan University, a Master of Music from
Northern Illinois University, and an MBA from Rollins
College.
